As I drifted off into meditation today I found myself back in time on the great plains of the west. There were rolling hills and tall grass bending with the breeze. I could see hundreds of buffalo and felt as if I were observing them as a hunter from a Native American tribe. Quietly I watched the enormous buffalo moving slowly about, grazing quietly and contentedly.
Even though I had been transported here through my dream state, I couldn’t help but think about the dolphin that came into my dreams the night before last. I was sure the message this week would be from Dolphin. But as I asked for a message from Dolphin, I was quickly transported back to the plains and the buffalo. But this time, there was a large, white buffalo standing in front of me. As I looked into his deep dark eyes, an intense feeling of sadness emerged from within as tears began filling my eyes. Almost afraid to ask for a message, I took a deep breath and listened carefully.
Your sadness comes from a place deep within. A memory ensconced in your DNA of a time when you and your family lived here in harmony with all the peoples, animals and spirits of the land. You ache for the connection you once felt and it is at the root of your need to control. The disconnection you as a human people are experiencing destroys you to your very core. It is like a disease that eats away at the very heart and soul of your being. You must stop. You must stop separating yourself from each other, from the animals, the creatures of the sea and sky and the Spirits of the land. Your survival depends on your reconnection. The earth’s survival depends on your reconnection. I am here to let you know that there is no time to do this in the future or even soon. You must do this NOW. You must let go of your fear and open your hearts to all that is now. There are many of us here helping you. All you need to do is ask and help will appear.
As white buffalo spoke these last words, he and the scene in front of me vanished. He was through and nothing else was meant to come at this time. Still it never ceases to amaze me what happens when we open ourselves up to the messages from the animals. There are so many spirit and angelic beings trying to get through to us if only we can be quiet long enough to hear their message.
I know that the White Buffalo is a sacred symbol for many indigenous people. The legend foretells of the return of the White Buffalo as a signal to bring harmony back to our world or all will perish. I am not one for doomsday predictions but I do sense from the White Buffalo and my other guidance an urgency to change our ways now. Sometimes that seems like such a daunting task. How could we ever change ourselves and everyone else in time to resurrect the planet? Perhaps that is not what is needed. Perhaps if each of us becomes the observers of our own lives we have an opportunity to make change within our selves. Blaming others is useless. Being the change we wish to see in the world truly is our most powerful way of being. Today I will observe how I am being in the world and how I might be more true to that part of me that so longs to connect with all beings. Will you join me?

Yes!
I would like to add the idea that we, spirits incarnated presently as humans, are such a part of nature that we are incapeable of destroying it.
Mother nature *always* wins. We can not, and will not, destroy the earth. Perhaps humanity’s physical incarnation in this vibration on planet earth is coming to an end, but it’s not a bad thing.
That all sounds very abstract. What I mean is, we’re children of nature, and it is not possible to destroy nature. We can be like locusts, and disrupt the balance temporarily, but it’s amazing and beautiful to see how rapidly nature recovers her losses.
We can simply join the balance, at any moment – it’s never too late because there is no end, only transition. A little bird said this to me 😉

Yes, Kirsten I agree. There was a very interesting documentary on PBS about what would happen if all humans disappeared from the earth at once. After things fell apart a bit with nuclear plant melt downs and such it did not take long for Mother Earth to recover and exist as if humans never walked here at all.

I also live in a region that was completely clearcut just a short while ago. It’s amazing to see how quickly it comes back (not that that’s an argument for clearcutting, but strip-cutting is minimally disruptive.)
